| The Sigma family of servo motors has taken the next technological step using high-resolution serial encoder feedback. Position information is transmitted to the amplifier allowing full error checking which eliminates position error caused by electrical noise and prevents runaway conditions. This all-digital feedback design enables the amplifier to automatically recognize the motor and optimize settings.
All Yaskawa linear servo motors feature plug-and-play connection with the Sigma-5, Sigma II and LEGEND amplifiers through use of automatic motor recognition and serial encoder technology. Yaskawa’s linear servo motors are supplied as components or an integrated slide.

Direct Drive
Direct drive technology eliminates backlash, reduces the number of mechanical components, and provides a stiff mechanical system for highly dynamic applications. The SGMCS servo motor line is designed for direct drive applications where the load is directly attached to the motor surface.
