The Sigma family of servo motors has taken the next technological step using high-resolution serial encoder feedback. Position information is transmitted to the amplifier allowing full error checking which eliminates position error caused by electrical noise and prevents runaway conditions. This all-digital feedback design enables the amplifier to automatically recognize the motor and optimize settings.

All Yaskawa linear servo motors feature plug-and-play connection with the Sigma-5, Sigma II and LEGEND amplifiers through use of automatic motor recognition and serial encoder technology. Yaskawa’s linear servo motors are supplied as components or an integrated slide.

  • SGMJV - Small capacity (0.05-0.75kW), medium inertia
  • SGMAV - Small capacity (0.05-1.0kW), low inertia
  • SGMGV - Medium capacity (0.3-15kW), medium inertia
  • SGMSV - Medium capacity, (1 to 5kW), low inertia

Sigma II Series

  • SGMAH - Small capacity (0.03-0.75kW), low inertia
  • SGMPH - Small capacity (0.1-1.5kW), medium inertia

Direct Drive Motor

Direct Drive
Direct drive technology eliminates backlash, reduces the number of mechanical components, and provides a stiff mechanical system for highly dynamic applications. The SGMCS servo motor line is designed for direct drive applications where the load is directly attached to the motor surface.
